Obviously, there were plans early on to make him the CEO because he joined the board of directors of the company a full month before his new appointment. Furthermore, he vacated his old position at the same company at roughly the same point in time. It all goes to show how company executives had decided sometime before the appointment became official in August of 2021 that they wanted him in this particular position.
